SINGAPORE - Unlike a standard "slab" phone with its single pane of touch-sensitive glass, a foldable smartphone comes with a flexible screen that opens up like a book into a device with a substantially larger display.
They were first released around the end of 2018 and, in the past few years, foldable smartphones from brands such as Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi have been launched.
