Barcelona was the place to be last week if you wanted to catch a glimpse of the upcoming wave of bezel-less smartphones, as the biggest names in the mobile industry unwrapped their latest offerings at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) trade show there.

This trend of shrinking the borders around smartphone screens arguably went mainstream last year, after the launch of Samsung's near-bezel-less Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones.
