$698

The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016), which was released at the end of last year, is a refresh of an earlier Galaxy A7 that was released at the beginning of 2015.

It has more RAM (3GB compared with 2GB), as well as optical image stabilisation and a bigger battery, at 3,300 mAh versus 2,600 mAh.

At $698, the new Samsung Galaxy A7 is one of the most expensive phones on this list.

For that price tag, you get a luxe glass-and-metal body with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on the back of the phone as well as on the front, and a fingerprint sensor.

It uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 615 processor. While not the fastest chip in this line-up, it is a solid mid-range option that should be more than enough for most daily needs.
