SINGAPORE - Customers who can't wait to get their hands on the latest Apple products can act soon, even though the gadgets are not yet in town.

Customers can indicate their interest with Singtel for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus at noon on Thursday (Sept 8), even though it will be selling the smartphones only next Friday (Sept 16).

StarHub customers can register their interest for the two smartphones at website www.starhub.com/iphone from 4.30pm on Thursday, the telco said.

A registration form for customers who want to pre-order the phone was available on the M1 home page as of Thursday afternoon. Customers who register will receive an email invitation for the pre-order when it starts, M1 said on its website.

Meanwhile, the Apple Watch Nike+ wearable fitness device - part of the new Apple Watch series - can be pre-ordered on the Apple website from Friday (Sept 9).

Apple unveiled its latest product releases in San Francisco on Wednesday (Sept 7, US time).

Both new iPhones look very much like the previous two generations, except for the antenna bands being more streamlined around the edges instead of spanning over the rear of the phones.

But there is no headphone jack. Both iPhones will come with a pair of EarPod with Lightning connector instead. However, a Lightning-to-3.5mm headphone jack is included, so users can still use their usual headphones.
