SINGAPORE - Singapore's first Apple Store will likely not open in time for Christmas this year, according to an updated information board outside its expected premises at Orchard Road.

The information board outside Knightsbridge mall now shows an expected completion date of Jan 30, 2017 - a three-month delay from its previous completion date of Oct 31 this year.

No reason was given for the extended completion date.

The mall's facade is still covered by white construction hoarding, with construction canvas draped over the exterior's glass panels.

The Straits Times previously reported in July that tall glass structures were already in place at the construction site, most likely for Apple's signature glass facade which adorns its overseas flagship stores.

Work on the store started in May this year. It could potentially span four floors, from the basement to the third storey of the shopping mall.
