Acer's all-in-one desktop is a sleek creature that will take up barely any space on your table.

The 2015 refresh of the Z3-710 features a slim 36mm chassis, which houses up to 1TB of hard drive storage, a fourth-generation Intel Core i5 processor, up to 8GB of DDR3L RAM, and an optional mid-range Nvidia GeForce 840M graphics card.

There is also the option to upgrade the 23.8-inch full high-definition in-plane switching (IPS) display to a 10-point multi-touch capacitive screen, for users to pinch, slide and swipe Web pages and applications to their hearts' content.

It is powered by fifth-generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, and has an IPS display with an impressive resolution of 3200 by 1800 pixels.

7 Dell Inspiron 11 3000

The Dell Inspiron 11 3000 is a two-in-one laptop and tablet device.

Its 11.6-inch, 1366 x 768-pixel LED screen can be swivelled almost 360 degrees, flipping back on itself to transform it from a laptop to a tablet.

Tablet mode will also be useful for navigating the touch-friendly Windows 8.1, the operating system that the Inspiron 11 3000 ships with.

It weighs a shoulder-friendly 1.41kg, and is powered by the power-efficient Intel Pentium N3540 processor.

If your goal is to purchase a reasonably priced laptop to cover all of your day-to-day needs, look no further.

The promotional price for the Dell Inspiron 15 5000 is $200 off the regular $1,299 price tag, and it comes pre-loaded with Office 365 Personal, which is worth a further $86. The inclusion of a 1TB hard drive is also impressive for its price. The Nvidia GeForce GT 920 graphics card and 8GB of RAM should power the laptop though day-to-day usage such as watching videos, and firing up Web pages, games and applications quickly. Available in glossy black or blue finish.

9 Lenovo Yoga 500

This convertible laptop and tablet can be used in four ways. Besides the conventional laptop and flat tablet configurations, the 360 swivelling Yoga 500 can also be propped open in stand mode, with the keyboard facing downwards, or in the A-shaped tent mode, for better viewing angles.

Sound is optimised for each mode, via different sound profiles and through two 1.5W Dolby speakers.

The top possible specs of the Yoga 500 are a fifth-generation Intel Core i7 processor and an Nvidia GeForce GT 940 card.

The flexible machine is available in storage capacities of up to 1TB. It is available in 14-inch and 15.6-inch models.
