Fund transfer service PayNow is being rolled out to all government agencies and statutory boards, allowing citizens to pay for everything from school fees to fines, and is tipped to make the current Giro system less relevant.
A bulk tender to bring public agencies on board PayNow, which has grown to become the most widely accepted e-payment system, has been awarded to DBS Bank, OCBC Bank and United Overseas Bank (UOB) to allow the Government to receive and disburse instant funds, The Sunday Times has learnt.
