Ever since Windows 10 was launched on July 29, 2015, Microsoft's prime operating system (OS) has been powering the bulk of laptops and tablet PCs around the world.

As at end May this year, Microsoft said the number of Windows 10 "active devices" (defined as devices which connected to Microsoft's servers at least once in the previous 28 days) had crossed the 800 million mark.
