DXRacer is probably best known for its Formula series of racing gaming chairs. However, it has other types of chairs, like the Classic series that is aimed at office workers.
At first glance, the Classic looks not too different from DXRacer's Formula series, with its racing car bucket-seat design.
In fact, it looks like the Formula chair on steroids: Bigger but less body-hugging than the latter. It looks more like a boss' chair, with a built-in headrest cushion not found in the Formula series.
The chair has a hefty aluminium base for stability and a gas spring that allows you to adjust the seat's height with the turn of a lever. Arm rests are also easily adjustable.
The package comes with a lumbar cushion, but the seat itself already feels pretty ergonomic for my troublesome back.
The highly cushioned backrest supports my spinal column fully and my back feels comfortable even after long periods of sitting.
At the rear of the seat, there is a small pocket to put your remote controls and a big pocket for you to put your favourite magazines. This makes it an ideal chair for those lucky enough to own a man cave.

Furthermore, it comes with an extendable leg rest that can be stowed away under the seat when it is not needed.
While the leg rest's angle cannot be adjusted, the seat itself can be tilted by 45 degrees from a vertical position. Thus, if you are tired from working or gaming, you can just tilt the chair with the leg rest extended for a comfortable quick nap.
Without the leg rest, the Classic chair is $70 cheaper. But the leg rest is the deal clincher for me.
I find the seat's stitching to be smoother and its exterior's polyurethane (PU) leather to be of better quality than those of the competition. On the downside, the PU leather does get a tad warm after a while. Not a problem if you are in an air-conditioned room. But if you are using a fan, you might not fully enjoy the chair.
- Verdict: For office workers who spend the bulk of their working hours sitting, investing in a good chair to prevent back problems is probably a good idea. And the DXRacer Classic is a great choice.
