SINGAPORE - Today is World Backup Day, an initiative to raise awareness about the importance of backing up your data.
According to a survey conducted by software firm Acronis, over 50 per cent of the respondents either save their data on a single device, typically their computers, or not at all.
As a result, they could lose all their data, valued at over $1,000 by more than half the survey respondents, if that device is damaged or misplaced. Find out more at http://www.acronis.com/en-sg/worldbackupday/
Tell us your brush with data loss - your computer crashed or your mobile phone was stolen - and stand a chance to win an Apple Watch (worth $529) and a copy of the Acronis True Image backup software. Nine other copies of Acronis True Image are up for grabs, too.
To enter the contest, simply like the Straits Times Digital Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/StraitsTimesDigital/ and the Acronis Asia Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/AcronisAsia
E-mail your stories, name, last four letters of your IC and mobile number to stdled@sph.com.sg with the subject header "World Backup Day". We'll pick the entries with the best stories for the prizes.
This contest ends on April 7, 2016.
