Rocketbirds 2: Evolution by Ratloop Asia is a humorous 2-D PlayStation platformer with a great co-op mode for up to four players at a time.

In this sequel to Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken (2011), players control poultry super-soldier Hardboiled Chicken to take on penguin despot Putzki.

While the platformer is largely free-roaming, there are also single-screen fights, with tougher enemies and little room to retreat or outmanoeuvre melee enemies.

In The Straits Times review of the game in May, we noted that "it takes a lot of madcap running and shooting (and probably quite a few tries) to get it right but, once you do, it is satisfying".

We also liked the co-op Rescue Mode, where players can stand on top of each other and run helter- skelter around the map to rescue stricken chickens.
