Apple doubles down on performance, privacy

But industry watchers surprised by lack of stand-out features in upcoming software

Apple unveiled upcoming software for all its devices at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Jose last week.

There were no new hardware announcements this year, unlike last year, when Apple departed from its norm by launching a slew of hardware. There were no hardware launches in the three WWDCs prior to that.
