You are texting a friend about your most recent holiday and they ask if you took any photos. The Samsung Galaxy S26 then surfaces a notification asking if you’d like to share some, based on the most recent, relevant images in your photo gallery.
For years, this kind of intelligent assistance existed in science fiction – embodied by fictional AI assistants like J.A.R.V.I.S. in the Iron Man films. Today, this technology is no longer confined to books and films – it is here in the Samsung Galaxy S26.
The latest AI phone to come from Samsung, the Galaxy S26 is built around agentic AI. It understands intent, coordinates across apps and takes action with minimal instruction. Instead of tapping and trying to navigate menus, you tell the phone what you need and it completes the necessary steps.
The Galaxy S26’s built-in AI is able to analyse your messages and suggest relevant images, making photo sharing quicker and more intuitive.

The game has now shifted to outcomes and not actions. Imagine the difference between how you would search for information on a chatbot versus a conventional Google search.
And all this is housed in a slim, lightweight aluminium body that is also exceptionally powerful. The Galaxy S26 series is available in three models – Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra – each built around the same agentic AI foundation. In the case of Galaxy S26 Ultra, AI-related tasks see performance boosted by up to 39 per cent, reducing lag when generating content or coordinating actions across apps.
A true AI digital assistant
These capabilities are powered by agentic AI, a next-gen technology that understands your goals and carries out actions across multiple tasks. This is enabled by Samsung’s integration across a host of first- and third-party apps.
Unlike conventional AI that responds to individual commands, agentic AI connects information across apps, recognises context and executes the next logical step.

For example, when checking your upcoming flights, the Galaxy S26 can surface departure details together with the weather at your destination. By coordinating tasks automatically, it reduces the need to switch between apps or manage details separately. A single request can trigger multiple related actions handled in the background.
Seamless experience across different AI systems
The Galaxy S26’s integrates four AI engines – Galaxy AI, Bixby, Google Gemini and Perplexity – each supporting different functions, from creative editing and search to system-level controls.
Galaxy AI focuses on creative tools, including photo editing, image refinement and sticker generation, while Bixby allows you to adjust controls on the device without navigating multiple menus. For outbound queries not handled on-device, such as general queries or performing cross-app tasks, those are handled by Gemini and Perplexity.
Together, these agents work seamlessly to achieve the outcomes desired by users. The underlying processes run in the background quietly, while user interaction remains simple. There is no need to learn complex prompts or commands. Instead, you interact with it naturally through voice commands or typing a request, just like messaging a human assistant.
With instant pairing, the Galaxy Buds connect seamlessly to the Galaxy S26 for quick, fuss-free use.

When paired with the Galaxy Buds, the experience is even more seamless. The earbuds connect instantly, enabling hands-free assistance, real-time interpretation and access to AI features while you’re on the move.
In addition to immersive Hi-Fi audio, calls are crystal clear through adaptive algorithms that adjust to surrounding noise.
Privacy and security built into the foundation
Because AI systems work closely with personal information, privacy and security are central to the device’s design.
The Galaxy S26 is protected by Samsung Knox, a multi-layered defence-grade platform built into the hardware and software. It safeguards sensitive data – including messages, schedules and personal information – from the chipset level.
With multiple AI models operating within the device, privacy is a top priority. Each AI feature accesses only the information required to complete a specific task. For all tasks that require off-device processing, users have full control of what they do – or do not want – to share. Not sure where to find those settings? Just ask Bixby.
By combining AI features with built-in security, the Galaxy S26 allows different tools to work side by side without exposing more data than necessary, so you remain in control of what is shared.

Users also have control over on-screen visibility, with options to hide notifications or mask sensitive app content from side viewing angles on the Galaxy S26 Ultra with its innovative hardware-level Privacy Display. The added benefit to this over stick-on privacy filters is how such hardware solutions allow the screen’s full vibrancy to come through.
Additional features such as AI-powered call screening to help easily determine whether it is a genuine call who you may not have saved the number of yet.
When an unfamiliar number calls, the phone can respond first, prompting the caller to state their identity and purpose.

Real-time privacy alerts also let users know when apps are accessing sensitive data, such as call logs, the camera or microphone, to help users detect potential threats.
By combining agentic AI with hardware and software-level privacy and security solutions, the Galaxy S26 is transforming the phone from a passive device into a pocketable assistant that helps users manage everyday tasks more efficiently. Less time spent tapping and navigating menus means more time to spend on the things and people that matter.
