A National Digital Identity Facial Biometric System will undergo a trial. It will allow banks and healthcare institutions, among others, to verify the identity of users by scanning their faces and checking against the national biometric database.

It will mark the first time the national biometric database is open to private sector use. Its use is currently limited to official purposes, including verification at border checkpoints and limiting access rights in some government buildings.
