Singapore national swimmer Joseph Schooling has been granted deferment on his National Service until 2016, so that the 18-year-old can can focus on training for the 2016 Olympic Games.

He is believed to be the first sportsman to be granted such an extended period of deferment - more than two years in this case. Who do you think should be granted NS deferment? Take our poll below.
