Weightlifting: Tunisia withdraw from world c'ships after doping blow

TUNIS (AFP) - The Tunisian Weightlifting Federation (FTH) confirmed on Monday that their team had pulled out of the world weightlifting championships under way in Poland after two lifters failed drugs tests.

FTH technical director Mohamed Ben Amor said that Khalil Mouaouia and Ramzi Bahloul had returned positive tests for unspecified banned substances.

"It's a psychological blow for the rest of the team, we understood that they couldn't achieve good results (in the circumstances)," he added.

The pair are awaiting an international sanction.
