The Singapore men's and women's teams got off to a mixed start on day one of the 3rd Asian Water Polo Cup yesterday at Toa Payoh Swimming Complex.
The world No.24-ranked men got off to a strong start in the competition, dominating Philippines from start to finish in a match that finished 22-2 to the hosts.
But the women were not so fortunate. They were on the receiving end of a masterclass from defending champions and world No.3 China, and were thumped 21-1.
Earlier, Iran beat China 10-6 in a clash of Asian men's giants.
