Triathlon: Bryce Chong, Ethel Lin emerge winners at national championships

SINGAPORE - Bryce Chong has won the men's category of the national triathlon championships on Sunday (Sept 10) at East Coast Park.

The 19-year-old finished the race (750m swim, 18km cycle and 5km run) in 1hr 1min 35sec, ahead of runner-up Zacharias Low (1:02:08) and third-placed Nicholas Rachmadi (1:02:18).

In the women's category, Ethel Lin was crowned the champion with a 1:12:37 effort. Phoebe Kee (1:13:29) was second, while Chang Shuwen (1:18:43) came home third.

With Chong and Rachmadi already nominated by the Triathlon Association of Singapore for the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Low has claimed the last men's nomination, while Lin and Phoebe filled the final two women's nomination slots.
