SINGAPORE -Tickets for next year's HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens go on sale in October, with the fourth edition of the event taking place at the National Stadium on April 13 and 14.

Early bird prices are available in October and public sales start in December. The tournament has seen more than 140,000 fans, including 44,000 from overseas, in attendance over the last three years.

In addition to featuring the world's top 16 men's rugby sevens teams, a series of lifestyle and community events will also take place before and during the tournament.

Rugby Singapore chairman David Lim noted that 93 per cent of the attendees at this year's tournament were satisfied with the event, up from 88 per cent last year.

"The 2019 Singapore Sevens will once more be promoted as much more than just world-class rugby entertainment on Singapore's vibrant sporting calendar," he said.

"We are programming the event to suit both rugby and non-rugby fans."

World Rugby chairman Bill Beaumont believes next year's HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series will be a "highly competitive" one as teams seek qualification for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

He added: "Rugby sevens has seen record growth in awareness in recent years, with its inclusion in the Olympics having a profound effect on the sport and attracting an estimated 30 million fans globally. The series continues to capture the imagination of global audiences, with record breaking fan engagement figures of over 120 million video views recorded this year."
