Thailand beat the Philippines 62-22 in a largely scrappy affair in the second SEA Games netball game at the OCBC Arena on Sunday.
The Philippines, who are making their first appearance in an elite-level netball competition, more or less matched Thailand in the first half, trailing only 14-24 at the interval.
However, their inexperience soon showed as the Thais broke away in the third quarter, outscoring them 20-2, eventually finishing the match well on top.
Philippines coach Fransien Howarth was pleased to see her side make their elite-level debut, but admitted her team could have done better.
"For their first ever netball game, being under the pressure of the crowd, they've never experienced that before...they definitely could have played a little better," she added.
