WTA Finals: Catch past, present and future tennis stars at public draw ceremony on Friday

SINGAPORE - The public draw ceremonies for the Oct 23 - Nov 1 BNP Paribas Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Finals Singapore presented by SC Global will be held at the Marina Bay Sands skating rink on Friday evening (Oct 23).

The event, open to the public, will be the only time past, present and future stars of professional women's tennis will be at the same place over the 10-day tennis extravaganza.

World No. 2 Simona Halep of Romania, No. 3 Maria Sharapova of Russia, former greats like Martina Navratilova and Mary Pierce, and rising stars like France's Caroline Garcia and China's Zhu Lin will be at the event.

Doubles players like world No. 1 pair Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza will also be present.

Fans will be given the opportunity to ask the players questions.

The WTA Finals, a prestigious US$7 million (S$9.75 million) season-ender, features the season's top eight singles players and eight doubles pairs. Legends will play exhibition events alongside the tournament, while there are also tournaments featuring the game's rising stars and top Under-14 and Under-16 players from the region.

The first matches of the main event will kick off on Sunday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Tickets are available from SportsHubTix.
