SINGAPORE - Hosts OUE Singapore Slammers gave their fans the perfect homecoming present in this festive season as they captured the 2015 International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) title on Sunday.

Led by world No. 4 Stan Wawrinka, the Slammers defeated defending champions Micromax Indian Aces 26-21 in the final played at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The Slammers drew first blood in the opening men's legends singles match as former world No. 1 Carlos Moya defeated Fabrice Santoro 6-4.

Swiss Belinda Bencic continued the momentum in the women's singles as she edged two-time Grand Slam champion Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-5 (7-3) to give the hosts a 12-9 lead.

That advantage was quickly erased in the mixed doubles as the Aces' pair of Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna notched a 6-2 win over Dustin Brown and Karolina Pliskova to give the Indian team a 15-14 lead.

Two-time Grand Slam champion Wawrinka, the biggest star for the Slammers, unleashed six aces and stamped his class with a 6-3 win over Australian Bernard Tomic in the men's singles.

Serving first in the fifth and final match, Wawrinka and partner Marcelo Melo scored a 6-3 victory over Ivan Dodig and Bopanna to seal the championship for the Slammers.
