Tennis: OUE unveiled as S'pore Slammers title sponsors for next three years of IPTL

SINGAPORE - Home-grown integrated property developed OUE Limited was unveiled on Wednesday as the new title sponsors of the Singapore Slammers, and will partner the home team in the next three seasons of the International Premier Tennis League (IPTL).

The team will now be known as the OUE Singapore Slammers, one of five teams in the Coca-Cola IPTL, a mixed-team tennis tournament using an abbreviated format, featuring some of the biggest names in the sport.

The league, now into its second year, will make stops in Japan, the Philippines, India and Dubai before its finale in Singapore on Dec 18-20 where the league champion will be crowned.

Said Stephen Riady, executive chairman of OUE Limited: "As a home-grown Singapore company, we are pleased to support the Slammers and bring together current tennis champions, legends and future stars in a highly-entertaining and spectator-friendly format.

"Through our sponsorship of the Singapore Slammers, OUE also hopes to boost the profile of tennis in Singapore, give opportunities for up-and-coming local players to be inspired and learn as well as continue to do our part to make Singapore a vibrant hub for tennis and sports in the region."

Singapore will be represented by world No. 1 Novak Djokovic, and some of tennis' most promising players such as Swiss Belinda Bencic and Australia's Nick Kyrgios. Former world No. 1 Carlos Moya is also in the Singapore team.

Roger Federer, playing for the UAE Royals, has confirmed his attendance in Singapore.

Tickets for the three-day event at the Singapore Indoor Stadium are on sale and can be purchased through SportsHubTix.
