MONTE CARLO (AFP) - Roger Federer battled back from a set down to beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 2-6, 7-6 (8/6), 6-1 and reach the Monte Carlo Masters semi-finals on Friday.

Federer will face either defending champion Novak Djokovic or Guillermo Garcia-Lopez for a place in the final.
