World No. 1 Roger Federer yesterday made it six victories out of six meetings against Benoit Paire - but not before being given a fright by the Frenchman in the round of 16 match in Germany. The Swiss kept alive his hopes of a 10th Halle Open title after saving two match points in the third set to beat Paire 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (9-7). He will play Australia's Matthew Ebden today for a place in the last four. Ebden, who is ranked 60th, overcame Germany's Philipp Kohlschreiber 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 to book his quarter-final slot.
