Another chapter beckons for Kvitova's fairy-tale story

In the lead-up to the Oct 21-28 BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global, Courtney Nguyen will pen columns exclusively for The Straits Times. This is the fourth of an eight-part series.

If two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova could summon Doc Brown and his famous time-travelling DeLorean, she would set a definitive course to the 1970s. This is not because the 28-year-old from the Czech Republic entertains any thoughts of hippies or disco. No, Kvitova stands out because she is an old soul, one who longs for quieter days and quainter times.

Oh, and also for the halcyon days of grass-court tennis.
