PARIS (AFP) - Rafael Nadal won the French Open for a record eighth time on Sunday by defeating fellow Spaniard David Ferrer 6-3, 6-2, 6-3 in the final.

It was the first time in tennis history that a man had won the same Grand Slam title eight times.
