SINGAPORE - The Republic delivered a clean sweep of the team events for the first time as part of a golden haul at this year's South East Asian Junior & Cadet Table Tennis Championships which ended today (July 12).

Besides teams golds in the Under-18 junior boys and girls, Under-15 cadet boys and girls' categories, Singapore's 14-strong youth contingent also secured another six golds, five silvers and six bronzes in the four-day tournament held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The 22nd edition featured competitors from six other Asean countries including Laos, the Philippines, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia.

Singapore's chief coach (youth development) Jing Junhong said: "The medal haul is impressive and we are really happy with our results.

"This clearly shows that our youth development pathway is on the right track. We are proud of our youths and we will continue to groom and develop high potential youths into sporting champions."
