Table Tennis: Crocodile Challenge Cup P5/6 champs earn training trip to Shanghai

THE champion paddlers of the 5th Crocodile Challenge Cup emerged on Sunday at Velocity, with two of them earning a fully-sponsored trip to Shanghai for June's ITTF World Hopes Week and Challenge.

Andy Wong of Maris Stella High School (Primary) and Janine Chew of Raffles Girls' Primary School won the Primary 5/6 boys' and girls' categories respectively, each earning a chance to attend the June 29 to July 5 event in Shanghai, which will offer quality training and competitive opportunities for the best young talents from all over the world.

Andy is now a three-time Crocodile Challenge Cup champion, having won the Primary 1/2 boys' tournament in 2011 and the Primary 3/4 boys' event in 2013. He beat Nanyang Primary School's Chia Jun Yuen 3-2 to book his ticket to Shanghai.

Janine defeated Hermoine Wong from Red Swastika School 3-0.
