Singapore swimmer Tao Li will not feature in this evening's Fina Swimming World Cup 100m fly finals, after crashing out of this morning's heats at the Singapore Sports School.

She clocked 58.97sec to finish ninth out of 22 competitors, missing out on a spot in the final by a mere 0.01sec. The 23-year-old had won two silvers and a bronze in the 100m fly in the last three legs of the international circuit.

The fastest three qualifiers were Great Britain's Francesca Halsall (55.81), Australia's Alicia Coutts (57.50) and Hungary's Katinka Hosszu (57.70).

With Tao Li absent tonight, Quah Zheng Wen and Pang Sheng Jun will be the ones flying Singapore's flag this evening.

Zheng Wen, 16, qualified in sixth position for the 100m individual medley. Sheng Jun, 21, will be competing in the 400M IM, where he just made the top-eight final. Olympic gold medallist Chad le Clos of South Africa will also feature this evening after qualifying for the 50m and 200m fly. He and three-time world champion Hosszu are among the stars in town for the two-day meet.
