Swimming: Joseph Schooling 2nd-fastest in 50-yard freestyle heats at NCAA C'ships

SINGAPORE - Olympic champion Joseph Schooling clocked 18.77sec to win his 50-yard freestyle heat at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships in Indiana on Thursday.

His timing placed him second out of 51 competitors. Caeleb Dressel of the University of Florida was top with 18.38sec.

Schooling, a junior at the University of Texas, will swim in the 50-yard free final later on Thursday (Friday morning, Singapore time).
