SINGAPORE - Local fans still hungry for more world-class swimming action after the Rio Olympic Games can look forward to catching the Fina/airweave Swimming World Cup live on television this weekend.

Eleven Sports Network announced on Friday (Aug 26) that it had signed a multi-year agreement with Fina and Singaporeans will also be able to follow the action from eight events from this year's World Cup circuit online and on mobile via the Eleven Sports digital service.

The competition kicks off on Friday (Aug 26) at the L'Odyssee Swimming Pool in Paris-Chartres, France and will end tomorrow.

The other seven World Cup meets will take place in Berlin (Aug 30-31), Moscow (Sept 3-4), Beijing (Sept 30-Oct 1), Dubai (Oct 4-5), Doha (Oct 8-9), Tokyo (Oct 25-26), and the last leg of the circuit is in Hong Kong (Oct 29-30).

Last year's overall Swimming World Cup winners Katinka Hosszu (Hungary) and Cameron van der Burgh (South Africa), two-time Rio silver medallist Chad le Clos (South Africa) will all be on show this weekend.

Other top swimmers include Alia Atkinson (Jamaica) and home favourites Jeremy Stravius and Fabien Gilot who captured silver in the 4x100m freestyle event in Rio.

"After Singapore's golden success in the pool at Rio 2016, we are delighted to secure these rights and bring more world-class action to swimming fans across the country," said Joyee Biswas, Eleven Sports Network's Asia managing director.

"The World Cup is one of the biggest events on the swimming calendar, and we are sure it will be a big hit with our ever-increasing audience in Singapore."

This weekend's event, hosted by the French Swimming Federation, will see 115 swimmers (71 men, 44 women) representing 28 national federations, compete across 32 events over two days.
