Except for 18-year-old Zhang, the rest of the group won the women's team and doubles, and swept the singles medals at the 2014 edition.

On the Gold Coast, Singapore - for the first time ever in the Commonwealth Games - surrendered the team title to India. The women's singles title, which Singaporeans had held since 2006, also went India's way, to Manika Batra, who was instrumental in their 3-1 win in the team event.
