SINGAPORE - The Force will soon be back with Singapore fans of movie-themed fun runs.

Organisers Esprimo said on Tuesday (Feb 6) that the second edition of The Star Wars Run will take place on Saturday, May 5, 2018 starting at the F1 Pit Building at Marina Bay.

This follows the roaring success of last year's inaugural edition, which drew a sold-out 15,000 participants and coincided with the 40th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: A New Hope.

Those aged 13 and above can go for the 10km competitive run, while those aged four to 12 have the 5.4km non-competitive run to look forward to. Children aged four to nine accompanied by a parent can take part in the 540m Young Jedi Dash, for which limited places are available.

The distances of the shorter events pay homage to the film's famous line "May the Force (May the 4th) be with you".

Priority registration is now open at www.esprimo.com.sg/StarWarsRunSG/index.php, followed by early bird registration from Feb 13.

Runners have to decide beforehand if they want to be Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader, hence picking their event tees, tote bags and picnic mats either in light blue (light side) or red (dark side) shades.

Other themed running events, such as the Hello Kitty and Transformers runs, have also been well received.
