THIS year's ST Run will give participants another chance at a unique experience: To take part in the first run to end inside the new National Stadium.

Set to be held on Sept 28, The Straits Times Run at the Hub will be the first time that running enthusiasts are able to complete their routes inside the 55,000-seat facility.

The stadium is slated for completion in June.

Runners at last year's inaugural ST Run also had a new experience, as they tackled Punggol Waterway's undulating pathways in the largest running event at one of Singapore's newest and most scenic park connectors.

The run, held last August, had more than 12,000 participants across the three categories. It was organised as part of The Straits Times Appreciates Readers programme to reach out to the community.

Said Straits Times sports editor Marc Lim: "The overwhelming response to last year's event is a big reason why we are bringing the run back. But we also wanted to keep the spirit of the inaugural event, which is to give our runners a unique experience.

"We think being able to complete a run under the National Stadium's iconic dome, cheered on by thousands, is an experience many will not forget."

More details about the event, including information on the route and how to register, will be announced at a later date.
