WARSAW • Two Singapore paddlers were due to play the same Japanese teenager yesterday at the Polish Open.

At press time, Zeng Jian was facing Miyu Kato in the Under-21 women's singles final and 21/2 hours later, the Republic's No. 2, 23rd-ranked Yu Mengyu, was due to take on the world No. 62 in the women's quarter-finals.

Miyu had on Friday accounted for Singapore's top paddler, world No. 7 Feng Tianwei, 4-2 in the round of 32.


Choo & Koh have little to show for 4 days' work

CAVITE (Philippines) • Local golfer Choo Tze Huang closed with a two-over 74 yesterday for a 292 total to finish joint 30th in the ICTSI Sherwood Hills Classic, winning just US$516 (S$700) for his efforts.

Compatriot Koh Deng Shan (75) took home US$303 for a 300 total to tie for 49th.

Newcomer Oscar Zetterwall (68) became the first Swede to win on the Asian Development Tour, sealing a three-shot victory by totalling 279 at the US$60,000 event.
