S'pore Optimist sailors a class above

DOHA • The Republic's Optimist sailors clinched three of the top four individual positions at the Optimist Asian and Oceanian Championship in Doha, Qatar, on Friday.

Daniel Hung (first), Muhammad Daniel Kei Yazid (second) and Jodie Lai (fourth) ensured that the Republic's two Peruvian coaches Javier Figueroa and Diego Perea will end their tenures on a winning note.

In the team racing event, Singapore came in second behind Thailand.

Dubuisson co-leads, McIlroy 1 stroke back

ANTALYA • Frenchman Victor Dubuisson fired a five-under 67 in the third round of the Turkish Airlines Open to share the lead on 16-under 200 with overnight leader Jaco van Zyl (70) of South Africa.

World No. 3 Rory McIlroy (67) and Thai Kiradech Aphibarnrat (66) are a stroke behind.

Kim and Kung lead after tough 3rd round

HAINAN (China) • South Korea's Kim Sei Young and Candie Kung of Chinese Taipei emerged at the top of the leader board after a brutal third day of scoring at the Blue Bay LPGA in China, where only four players shot sub-par rounds.

Overnight leader Kim produced a two-over 74 for a 216 even-par total, matched by Kung (73). World No. 1 Lydia Ko (70) was among the sub-par quartet, moving up to six-over and a share of 20th. REUTERS
