Moyes eyes vacant Scotland post

LONDON • David Moyes is keen to talk to the Scottish Football Association (SFA) about becoming the Scotland manager, after Gordon Strachan agreed to step down on Thursday.

The Times understands that Moyes, who has not had a job since resigning as Sunderland manager at the end of last season, would welcome discussions with the governing body.

Mascherano to quit Argentina next year

BUENOS AIRES • Argentina's Javier Mascherano will retire from international football after next year's World Cup Finals in Russia.

The 33-year old Barcelona defender, who sometimes plays in midfield, said the opportunity to win a major title for his country was one of his last remaining playing ambitions.

Rookie Yin charges to lead after a 65

SEOUL • LPGA Tour rookie Angel Yin stormed into the sole lead at the second round of the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship yesterday.

The 19-year-old fired a seven-under 65 to post an 11-under total of 133. Local favourite Chun In Gee carded 65 to a total of 135 to share second place with Park Sung Hyun (69) and Ko Jin Young (67).
