Hazard seeks clarity on Conte's future
LONDON • Eden Hazard wants clarity on Chelsea manager Antonio Conte's position at the football club, as well as what signings they plan to make in the close season, before he makes his mind up about his own long-term future.
The Italian's future is unclear after the Blues finished fifth last season and failed to qualify for the Champions League.
When asked if his future at the club depended on who was in charge at Chelsea next season, Hazard told the British media "I want to know" but also said that he is focused on the World Cup for now.
Vieira leaves NYC, takes over at Nice
NEW YORK • Patrick Vieira stepped down as coach of New York City FC on Sunday, leaving the Major League Soccer club to take the reins as the new manager of Nice, who finished eighth in the top French division last season.
Vieira, who was a contender to take over former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger before Unai Emery was appointed, was 39-27-22 while in charge of New York.
The team are second in the Eastern Conference this season. His departure was announced on the website of Manchester City, who are in the same ownership group as NYCFC.
Park wins ShopRite for first LPGA title
NEW YORK • Annie Park produced a scintillating final round to claim her first career win at the ShopRite LPGA Classic on Sunday.
The 23-year-old golfer from New York, who had started the day in the chasing pack at eight under, carded an eight-under 63 to claim victory by one shot.
Park's flawless round included six birdies and an eagle, leaving her with a 54-hole aggregate of 16-under 197 for the tournament.
