Frank conversation as de Boer takes the helm
MILAN • Dutchman Frank de Boer was officially appointed Inter Milan's coach yesterday, taking over from the ousted Roberto Mancini.
"Frank de Boer is the new Nerazzurri coach," the Italian Serie A football club said on their Twitter page, followed by the hashtag #WelcomeFrank.
De Boer, 46, who left Ajax at the end of last season, arrived in Milan late on Monday to take over from Mancini, who left amid reports the club's new Chinese owners wanted fresh blood at the helm.

Hammers complete record deal for Ayew
PARIS • Ghana footballer Andre Ayew has joined West Ham United on a club record three-year deal from their Premier League rivals Swansea, the London outfit said on Monday.
The former Marseille winger and son of one-time African Player of the Year Adebi Pele joined the Hammers for a fee of £20.5 million (S$35.8 million).

Jordan's donations for high-profile museum
WASHINGTON • National Basketball Association (NBA) legend Michael Jordan is donating US$5 million (S$6.7 million) and a basketball jersey from the 1996 NBA Finals to the Smithsonian's new National Museum of African American History and Culture.
The museum, which is due to open on Sept 24 in Washington, said its Game Changers Hall in the Sports Gallery will be named the Michael Jordan Hall in recognition of his generosity.
