Singapore's Johnson Poh closed with two-under 69 at the PGM MNRB Championship in Sarawak yesterday to finish third with a nine-under 277. Blake Snyder won the RM200,000 (S$64,000) Asian Development Tour event on 273, with fellow American John Catlin two strokes behind in second.

SAN FRANCISCO • US golfer Tyler Duncan fired a six-under 66 to take a one-shot lead at the US PGA Tour's Safeway Classic on Friday. An eagle on the ninth helped Duncan offset three bogeys, giving him a total of 13-under 131.


Shoulder injury cuts short Smith's tour

RANCHI (India) • Australia's cricket captain Steve Smith yesterday left his country's tour of India because of a shoulder injury. The batsman's injury is a new blow to Australia as they lost the one-day series in India and are preparing for an Ashes series against England next month.
