Geylang International climbed above Warriors FC into fourth place in football's S-League, after winning their clash 2-0 last night at Choa Chu Kang Stadium with late goals from Shahfiq Ghani and Shawal Anuar.

At Hougang Stadium, the hosts edged out Garena Young Lions 2-1 to stay sixth. Pablo Rodriguez Aracil and Nurhilmi Jasni put the Cheetahs two up before Rusyaidi Salime pulled one back for the bottom side.

Mardan out after poor 2nd round in S. Korea

A horrid second-round nine-over 80, which included two double bogeys, meant Singapore golfer Mardan Mamat missed the 144 cut at the Shinhan Donghae Open in Incheon yesterday by 10 strokes.

South Koreans Kang Kyung Nam (69), Kim Jun Sung (69) and Lee Seung Taek (67) are joint leaders on eight-under 134 at the 1.2 billion won (S$1.43 million) Asian Tour event.

Feng finishes bottom of Asian Cup group

AHMEDABAD (India) • Singapore paddler Feng Tianwei crashed out of the Asian Cup yesterday after failing to win any of her three group matches.

The world No. 8 fell to Chinese Taipei's world No. 43 Chen Szu-yu 11-6, 8-11, 9-11, 11-5, 9-11 before losing to Japan's Kasumi Ishikawa 10-12, 6-11, 11-3, 5-11. World No. 30 Suh Hyo Won of South Korea then defeated her 11-8, 7-11, 7-11, 11-3, 12-10.

Feng finished bottom of Group Three in the 16-player women's draw. Yu Mengyu also lost all her matches in Group One - 1-3 to Miu Hirano of Japan, 0-3 to Hong Kong's Doo Hoi Kem and 0-3 to China's Zhu Yuling.
