Henderson could miss start of new season
LONDON • Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, who suffered a left-knee injury during the Premier League champions' 3-1 victory at Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday, could miss the start of next season, the BBC reported on Thursday.
The 30-year-old midfielder scored Liverpool's second goal in the eighth minute, but was substituted because of a collision with Yves Bissouma in the 80th minute.

Quarantined PGA trio return to playing
LOS ANGELES • Dylan Frittelli, Nick Watney and Denny McCarthy completed the first round of the PGA Tour's Workday Charity Open on Thursday, after all three spent 10 days in quarantine following positive Covid-19 tests.
The trio were allowed to play after the Tour updated its return-to-work protocols and were grouped together at the Muirfield Village Golf Club in Ohio, where Collin Morikawa shot a seven-under 65 for a one-shot lead over Adam Hadwin.

Holding hope for tennis in China
SHANGHAI • Women's tennis officials are still hopeful of holding tournaments in China this year, despite the country's highest sporting body - The General Administration of Sport - on Thursday calling off most international sports events in 2020 because of the coronavirus.
"To our knowledge, the report that has been circulated regarding a principle on international sporting events in China does not represent a final decision," the Women's Tennis Association said in a statement.

Nashville second MLS team to pull out
LOS ANGELES • Nashville have become the second team to withdraw from Major League Soccer's (MLS) restart competition in Florida, after confirmation that four more players had tested positive for Covid-19, the league said on Thursday.
A total of nine Nashville players have tested positive for Covid-19 since arriving in Orlando for the event. On Monday, FC Dallas were pulled from what had been a 26-team tournament after 11 members of the franchise tested positive for the virus.
