Special rates and priority registration for Safra Singapore Bay Run & Army Half Marathon

The Singapore Armed Forces has announced that all Operationally Ready NSmen (ORNS) and those who have completed their ORNS training cycles are entitled to attractive rates for the Safra Singapore Bay Run & Army Half Marathon.

These NSmen will enjoy priority registration and more than 75 per cent off registration fees for the 5km, 10km and 21km categories in this year's event on August 31.

Up to three immediate family members of participating NSmen will also be able to enjoy special rates as the organisers look to encourage increased participation from NSmen and their families.

Brigadier-General (NS) Tung Yui Fai, chairman of the organising committee, said: "We received a lot of good feedback last year and we want to encourage even more NSmen and their families to keep fit and bond through the event."

The race route has yet to be finalised, with BG (NS) Tung revealing that improvements to the routes are being looked at in order to avoid bottlenecks and to improve the running experience for participants.

Priority registration for NSmen and their families will end on June 17, and registration for members of public will begin the next day. Early bird offers will be available for the public up till July 2, and registration will close on July 24. Interested participants may refer to the Safra website for more information.
