Jockey Vlad Duric steered Zac Spirit (3) to victory in yesterday's Lion City Cup at the Singapore Turf Club. The six-year-old Australian-bred gelding clocked 1min 8.45sec to finish a length clear of Emperor Max (Danny Beasley) while Super Winner (Elione Chaves) was a further 2.5 lengths back in third. Spalato (Corey Brown) was another length back in fourth on the Short Course. The Lion City Cup, in which prize money has increased from $500,000 to $800,000, is the third-richest horse race in Singapore after the $1.35 million Emirates Singapore Derby (July 10) and the $1.15 million Longines Singapore Gold Cup (Nov 20).
