Singapore's takraw players win nation's first medal of 2013 SEA Games - in chinlone

Singapore has won its first medal of the 27th SEA Games in Myanmar.

The nation's sepak takraw players secured a bronze medal in the sport of chinlone on Friday.

Chinlone is a traditional sport in Myanmar, in which players are graded on how well they can juggle a rattan ball.

In event No. 1 (non-repetitive, primary level), Singapore were joint-third with Malaysia in the four-team contest. Myanmar and Cambodia will play for the gold tomorrow at the Wunna Theikdi Indoor Stadium.

The biennial Games begins officially on Dec 11.
