The Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore has been named the best sports event (local) at the annual Singapore Sports Awards tonight.

The other nominees were football's 24th Canon Lion City Cup, OCBC Cycle 2012, 65th SCC International Rugby Club Sevens.

The best sports event (international) gong went to golf's HSBC Women's Champions. The other nominees were the Fina Arena Swimming World Cup, HSBC Asian Sevens Series (rugby), Li-Ning Singapore Open (badminton) and One Fighting Championship.
