Silver for Singapore men's squash team after 0-2 loss to Malaysia in final

SINGAPORE - Singapore had to settle for the SEA Games squash men's team silver after losing the final 0-2 to Malaysia on Saturday.

In the first match, Malaysia's Muhd Bahtiar beat Singapore's Samuel Kang 10-12, 11-8, 11-6, 11-9.

The second match between Singapore's Vivian Rhamanan and Malaysia's Sanjay Singh was also the day's last. Sanjay won 11-4, 11-2, 11-2.

Said a teary Vivian after the event: "They are the powerhouses, and we were the underdogs. My boys fought hard, and they can be proud of themselves, the pressure had been on us, but we did our best."

Said Kang: "I felt like I gave it everything I had, my opponent played really well and they deserved their gold. We have a lot to learn from and we will come back stronger for sure."

Indonesia and the Philippines left with the bronzes.
