Silat exponents to honour late world champ Abdul Kadir at LionsXII-Perak game

The Singapore Silat Federation, Persisi, will put on a silat demonstration at half-time during Saturday's LionsXII-Perak Malaysia Cup game in honour of the late Abdul Kadir Ibrahim, the 1997 world champion.

Abdul Kadir died on Aug 16 of a heart attack. He was 41.

He left behind a wife and six children. His wife is a homemaker and his youngest child is a month old.

With the permission of the Football Association of Singapore and the Football Association of Malaysia, the silat exponents will demonstrate their skills at half-time at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

An announcement will be made at the stadium to inform fans how they can donate to the family.
