Silat exponent Saiedah's appeal against her two-year drug suspension denied

The National Anti-Doping Appeals Committee (NAAC) has turned down silat exponent Saiedah Said's appeal against her two-year suspension from the sport.

The 28-year-old had tested positive for banned substances at April's 38th National Pencak Silat Championships and was subsequently banned from all sports for a period of two years from June 4.

At the hearing, Saiedah was unable to prove that the banned substances - Nor-Sibutramine and OH-Nor Sibutramine - were present in traditional medicine which she took for back pain.

Her two-year ban will end on June 3, 2015.
